Louis Vuitton & Jeff Koons
The latest project of the French Fashion House is a collection of handbags and accessories, created in collaboration with the New York artist Jeff Koons. Koons transferred the aesthetics of his many years’ cycle „Gazing Ball” – a series of large-format reproductions of works by great painting masters – into selected products by Louis Vuitton. The reproductions of paintings by da Vinci, Titian, Rubens, Fragonard and Van Gogh were transferred into iconic handbag designs: Speedy, Keepall and Neverfull. Each of these handbags features a key ring in the shape of a rabbit, this is a hallmark of this artist during his 40-year career.
Koons used also the iconic monogram by Louis Vuitton to design his initials in
this style. Never before has such a radical interference in the legendary
trademark been approved.
